2014 Sketch Comedy Hopefuls
4 Days Late
4 Days Late educates without patronizing, satirizes without caricatures and eviscerates American pop culture without mercy. Fueled by the dynamic ensemble, we create genre defying, original work that implicates our audience and ourselves.
4 Days Late Productions began as a humble sketch group in 2007 and expanded into a full production company in 2011. Their most recent success, America: Horror Story just premiered at the 13th Annual Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival. Their most famed hit, Jersey Shore The Musical, ran for 9 months to sold-out audiences all over Chicagoland. With 6 original productions since its inception, 4 Days Late has graced the stages of Chicago Sketchfest, iO, Second City’s Donny’s Skybox, The Playground and the Indy Fringe Comedy Festival. Other productions include: Americans In Peril, America: For Dummies, ObamaNation and iAlone. Proud member of The League of Chicago Theatres.
The Comic Thread
Heralded by The Pioneer Press as “Not Professional. Not Funny,” The Comic Thread has been making everyone but The Pioneer Press laugh since 1998.
The Comic Thread (TCT) began as a small skit comedy and improv ensemble called “Super-Natty,” performing in Highland Park, IL, a northern suburb of Chicago. In 2004, TCT began performing to downtown Chicago audiences with its production of “Jew, The Obscure” at Donny’s Skybox at The Second City, Chicago.
In 2010, TCT entered its first sketch comedy festival, The Chicago Sketchfest (the biggest sketch comedy festival in the US) to a sold-out house. They followed suit in 2011 and again in 2012 with sold-out performances.
In May of 2011, TCT kicked-off its unofficial tour of national festivals with an appearance at the 2011 LA Comedy Fest where it was nominated for Best Writing and won the Best Group Award. In 2012, TCT tied for 1st Place at a local sketch competition, was the Runner-Up Best Group at the Shadowbox Sketch Comedy Festival in Columbus, Ohio, and took home the Audience Choice Award at the 3rd Annual Chicago Fringe Festival out of 47 spectacular productions from across the US and abroad!
TCT is a proud production of Bitter Jester Creative, Inc.
The Dancing Pig
The Dancing Pig is a sketch comedy group formed out of Second City’s conservatory program. Whimsical, smart, sarcastic and witty, we lambaste everything from Hitler to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). We make people laugh and we know it.
Sketch Comedy Group from the Northern Hemisphere.
The Don’t We Boys!
The Don’t We Boys is a critically-acclaimed, fast-paced sketch comedy show in the same vein as MTV’s “Human Giant” and Comedy Central’s “Key & Peele”. It’s like “The Second City” on steroids!
Our goal is to explore high stakes situations in relatable ways and relatable situations in extraordinary ways.
Formed in 2009, The Don’t We Boys currently performs in about 30 states every year. We perform sketch comedy the only way we know how: with a foot in the grave.
HEY LADIES, a loud and proud group of Southern ladies transplated in Chicago, have a riproarin’, cream filled, and deep fried musical sketch hootenany made up of founders Brittny Congleton & Molly Todd and featuring the incredible Kate Kershaw, Ali Delianides, Kristin Hopkins & Kerry Santoro. This all female Southern musical sketch troupe is inspired by the trashy, touching and true experiences of the southern gals of HEY LADIES. From the big haired and God fearing to the grace and charm of the southern belle, we’ll take you county to county meeting pageant girls, trailer trash, Bible thumpers, and every coupon queen in between!
Most recently we appeared in the 2014 Chicago Women’s Funny Festival and 2014 Chicago Sketchfest. We’re also about to begin an 11 week run of our Southern Drinkin’ Variety Show, SASSAFRAS at Chicago’s new all music comedy theatre, Music Comedy Live!
